Profile: The CAF is a promoter of agricultural development in the canton of Desamparados. It is a non-profit organization made up of families who receive resources to further improve agricultural production, with a special focus on coffee. They provide a processing center which receives coffee from its members on a yearly basis, and ensure an equal pay to all members. We have formed a women's group within CAF to provide them with the training and tools to improve their coffee quality and business in general.

Profile: ASOMOBI is the first women-led coffee mill in Costa Rica, formed in 1997, at the height of the coffee crisis. The group started with 19 enterprising women who started processing and roasting their own coffee, and has grown to become a force for economic growth in the community of Biolley. In addition to selling roasted coffee, ASOMOBI also works to generate economic development in the local community by running tours, a hostel for tourists, welcoming groups of volunteers and travelers from around the world. We work with this group to provide training to increase their yield and improve their processing methods.
